Choosing the right size leash for you board is important and depends on a number of factors. Generally speaking you want to go for a leash that is approximately the same length as your board. Not many boards are exactly 6,7,8 ft etc so round up or down accordingly. In larger surf it’s always a good idea to go for a slightly longer leash so ensure your board doesn’t “ping” back and hit you after a wipeout. Also a longer leash will take more force to break after a heavy wipeout.
